Wolfgang Baur is a writer, editor, and game designer. He started his long and deadly career as an editorial assistant, quickly eliminating all rivals proving himself capable enough to become an assistant editor, then editor.
His TSR days are mostly the stuff of nostalgia now: his more recent projects include game design such as Frostburn, Expedition to the Demonweb Pits, The Book of Roguish Luck and Dungeon articles such as “Raiders of the Black Ice” (issue 115), “The Clockwork Fortress” (issue 126) and “A Gathering of Winds (issue 129).
Though he’s written a hundred game projects and articles, fiction is still relatively new for Wolfgang. He placed stories in two fiction anthologies in 2004, Children of the Rune and The Dragons Return. The Further Adventures of Beowulf anthology is currently underway for 2006, and other short fiction is in the offing.
He’s been working on novels for a couple years. Okay, six years. The alternative history The Magister is being reviewed by Bantam editor. The second is an the urban fantasy is growing from a seed even now, awaiting the harvest. It involves monkeys.
