Bent on total word domination
Raised by Swedish Elves and Irish Leprechauns in Massachusetts, Steve moved to Wisconsin in 1980 to work at as an editor and (later) graphic artist at TSR — the makers of Dungeons & Dragons.
In 1984 he left TSR to help found Pacesetter, Ltd. — the creators of Chill and other award-winning games.
A freelancer since 1986, Steve has worked on a wide variety of novels, comic books, and games, including: D&D, Dragonlance books & games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, ICE Tolkien game products, Speed Racer comics, Legend of the Five Rings books, Darkwing Duck comics, and many, many more. His Twilight Empire(tm) comic ran for over four years in Dragon magazine.
In addition to writing fantasy novels — such as The Scorpion and The Dragon Isles — and ghost-writing kid detective stories, Steve has recently branched out into adapting movies & TV shows. The first book in his Dragonlance trilogy, Dragonlance: Warrior’s Heart, and his modern fantasy novella Luck o’ the Irish just hit the stands. Spider Riders 1 -3, Fantastic 4, Elektra, and Thunderbirds are still out, too.
Steve lives with his wife and two children in a quiet corner of haunted Wisconsin.
