Bent on total word domination
Johnny Wilson lives in a strange nexus between a multiverse of interests and commitments. Though he joined The Alliterates through his writing for Dragon magazine and publication of his first Dungeons & Dragon novel (T. H. Lain’s The Bloody Eye), he has a wide range of writing and speaking credits. Currently residing in Wilmette, Illinois, he has alternated his domestic teaching responsibilities with a series of road trips in which he taught theology in eastern Europe and computer game design in Taiwan.
Wilson has a Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky with an outside area in Roman History from the University of Kentucky. He is often amused at the reaction many church people have when they realize that he not only plays Dungeons & Dragons, but has written in its shared universe.
After leaving Paizo Publishing, LLC where he served as founding president, Wilson plunged full-time into writing. Having limited success in those endeavors (not able to make a living in freelance writing), he quickly joined the faculty at Art Institute of Atlanta and then moved to the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. In both Atlanta and Chicago, Wilson has been teaching Game Art and Design (including a class in scriptwriting and storytelling for games). As a labor of love, he is currently trying to put together a direct-sale magazine dedicated to the board game, strategy game niche. Since he currently has no budget to pay writers, artists, and editors, you can see his prototype site at http://www.rerollandreplay.com. You can also catch his current opinions on the world of gaming (both digital and pen-and-paper) on his blog, Game Prescription (http://rerollandreplay.blogspot.com) .
