WotC Probably Won’t Brag About This

I was listening to a podcast of Fresh Air (the 2/18/09 episode, if you want to look it up) where Terry Gross was interviewing Ta-Nehisi Coates about his life. When describing his adolescence, he talks about being a D&D player.

Somehow, I don’t see WotC trying to use his name as a rallying point the way they have Vin Diesel’s, Wil Wheaton’s, Stephen Colbert’s, and that guy from Weezer’s.

BTW, Coates ALSO talked about being a comic book nut and spending many afternoons laying on his bed reading X-Factor … but I doubt Marvel’s gonna brag about that either.

But maybe I’m just being cynical.
